Arrive Japan Support
Help for offline travel Japanese, sign scanning, pronunciation, and subscriptions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arrive Japan work offline?
Yes. The app is designed offline-first so phrasebook content, lessons, search, audio, emergency phrases, and practical guides remain available without Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Why does the app ask for camera access?
Camera access is requested only when you start sign scanning. It is used to help read Japanese signs, menus, and labels.
Why does the app ask for microphone or speech recognition access?
Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions are requested only when you start speech practice. They help compare spoken practice against phrase pronunciation.
How do subscriptions work?
Arrive Japan may offer optional Premium purchases through Apple StoreKit. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions.
What stays free?
Emergency/help phrases, core airport and train help, kana learning, manual sign search, and essential survival audio are intended to remain available without Premium.
Troubleshooting
- For missing audio or content, make sure you are using the latest version of the app.
- For camera scanning issues, confirm camera permission is enabled in iOS Settings.
- For speech practice, confirm both Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions are enabled.
- For purchase issues, use the restore purchases option in the app or manage subscriptions through Apple.
